This is a scam of an organization. You are better working at McDonalds or getting unemployment benefit than working for a company that lies to and abuses its employees.

The so-called "CEO" is an arrogrant negro who makes himself feels like a human being by emotionally abusing young college grads; making them feel they are useless in life if they can't sell his cheap blinds.

The turn-over rate is so high, they advertise their positions as "Management Trainee" it is a sales job with a base pay of at most $9. They target newly college grads desperate for a new job and lie to them, until they finally realize the scam.

Its very disappointing to see how people comment on these sites. I guess to anyone reading the comments on this site, is you have to ask yourself, all these negative people...

who wouldn't have fired them??

The reality is, its an MT program. you have to work hard to get into leadership, and it really has nothing to do with who you know. If you don't have the drive, or just don't want to work hard, MTPs (anywhere) aren't right for you.

Quite often there are things about yourself you have to change in order to be successful (maybe your communication skills; your leadership skills; your critical thinking skills; your maturity level). Not everyone comes pre-packaged for leadership.

And change is HARD. Its up to you to decide how hard you work and how successful you are.

You are insane if you can even begin to form your mouth to speak a response like that, must be why you're typing it. First of all..

I've seen brainwashed hardworking salespeople who are making this company at least 7k a week and they are being prolonged a management position for 3 years??.. Be serious with yourselves, they are training the newcomers, along with motivating them and using your brainwashed sales tactics of "Everyone is here to purchase" and the company won't give them the position because of money. Second of all, HOW DARE YOU EVEN BRING UP NEGATIVE PEOPLE, in reference to a company that is solely based on pushing workings to generate negative feedback on one another only to slap a label on it and say "it's to help them develop as salespeople". Right?

Because not closing a sale makes people "selfish, inattentive, childish" in the words of management's rules. Don't even bother to kid yourself or these people on here that the company isn't trash. The chairman constantly brags about how he was "going to" invest into Starbucks but decided to go with "blinds to go" instead" which is a joke... the only reason he didn't invest in Starbucks is because his tactic of using young college students and exploiting them for money wouldn't work there..

he has no business skill, just sleazy sneaky manipulative skills.. So that's what he took from his "harvard business education" ?.. He has "one on one" meetings which aren't actually one-on-one as he brings one of his ugly fat sidekicks who've been in the company for years, and then he uses sarcasm and underhanded comments to poke fun at you during the convo meanwhile looking for approval of his sidekick for a laugh.. it's quite sad..

I don't even see how this company survives, it's very tempting to find out where they have job fairs and show them all these reviews plus my own personal one.

As you can see the person above me clearly was sent to write this, as the ratio : 1 positive response/30 negative responses, doesn't quite add up.. hmmm Harvard MBA Graduate, you should know this, simple mathematics.

Looking at their posting offers is laughable. They recruit people like crazy only in Canada, I cannot tell in US.

I worked there for 1 year and felt I lost my time. They lie about everything. I have seen people working there, really good "sellers" that still have not been promoted and all of this is just because of personal problems with the managers....if there is even one in your store. The salary is really bad.

They glorify it with the 2% comission (in which you will have to hit more than 6k the week to have a decent weekly salary). You only have a 30 minute break in a 9 to 10 hour shift per day. They make you work up to 45 hrs the week and will no pay you the extra. You have to clean the store, sell and deal with the customers.

You vacations are forced in the week from 24 to 31st and cannot take them consecutively, and guess what, they are not paid if you do not have enough time accumulated. You do not have weekends for yourself or your family, and forget a prsonal life, because if you have a manager as the one I had... Geesh.

Nothing was ever professional with that person.

The manager took everything personal, talked really bad about her colleagues and even of her bosses and company owners. What kind of environment is that?

Beleive me, please do not work for this company unless ou are an excellent seller and will handle this kind of treatment.

I too was duped by the whole management trainee bull. Wasted a year and a half at that joke of a company before I woke up and split.

In my case I was also promised stock options when the company went public, guess what, the company is still not publicly traded and I worked for them over 8 years ago.

Total *** and very mis-leading. No surprise they closed all but a few of their DC area stores.

Dear "Anon" - just sticking strictly with the facts and subject matter: Your accusations against Mars have nothing to do with the content of his post. I also notice he at least tried to put a name in (whether real or not); making accusations under "anon" with no substance are easy cheap-shots, and I wonder if the focus shift to the success of the company is a masked attempt at PR damage control.

For the most part, Paul's description is accurate. In my experience, BTG posts on government job-banks using false NOC (National Occupational Classification) codes under the title "Management Trainee". When you get to the store for your initial "interview", the wanted-poster changes the title from "Management Trainee" to "Sales Associate". All positions are recruited from within (on their website), which means that everybody's a "management trainee".

The guy I was interviewing with told me that any "management" opportunities are directly related to sales volume. No stellar sales, no management position (or guarantee of any management position in fact). You get just over min. wage, and you have to hit a min.

of $6000 in sales/week - are expected to work Saturdays in addition to the week. I asked if a guy who was already working there had ever met his target, and I was told "no". In fact, the interviewer mentioned that the general manager (who responds to resumes of potential recruits) does "very well" [financially; implying this isn't necessarily so for others]. The recruiting is in fact dishonest.

The job postings and advertisements are dishonest.

The only honesty came from the person showing me around the store under hard questioning. The fact that there are other consistent complaints in substance should raise serious red flags to anybody applying to BTG, and those are the facts you should have addressed in your post "anon".

I am deeply offended by your comment. You must have been fired or something to write things like this but you should probably grow up and join the present day instead of bash people and their company which they have grown from almost nothing due to lots of hard work and dedication.

The name calling is completely uncalled for and incredibly rude. You should be ashamed.
